Orange Business Services (OBS) and Sorin Group have joined forces to launch devices that allow healthcare professionals to monitor data from heart patients remotely.
The SMARTVIEW cardiac rhythm management (CRM) devices provide information and alerts with the support of Sorin's PARADYMTM RF technology even when a patient is at home.
It is thought that the CRM devices will offer improved diagnostic capabilities and allow for earlier detection of disease progression.
A help desk from OBS and the medical device firm will also be launched to help with the installation of the monitoring system. This is designed to remove the installation burden from healthcare professionals.
Thierry Zylberberg, executive vice-president at Orange and general director of Orange Healthcare, said: "In the expanding area of remote patient care, Orange Business Services has developed significant expertise in the development and deployment of e-health platforms that facilitate the remote monitoring and measurement of chronic illnesses."
He added: "We are extremely proud to have been able to work with Sorin and to apply our dual expertise as a solutions integrator and network operator to the development and launch of SMARTVIEW."
