Rostelecom selects Amdocs to improve its customer management systems

Rostelecom, Russia’s nation telecoms operator, has chosen Amdocs to update its customer management systems.

The US-based vendor said the centralised solution, the installation of which will be led by local systems integrator AT Consulting, will improve the customer experience of every Rostelecom subscriber’s and reduce the total cost of ownership.

The new system will consolidate information from Rostelecom’s existing business support systems including billing, inventory management and ticketing systems.

According to Victor Strelkov, CIO of OJSC Rostelecom, this deal will assist the operator in its goal to become the leading Russian service provider for the residential, corporate, and government sectors.

Rostelecom, which had a total of 55.1 million subscribers across its local fixed-line voice, mobile voice, fixed-line broadband, and pay-TV networks at the end of 2011, services business and residential customers across Russia and along with domestic and international operators.

“With Amdocs, we can quickly introduce rich, customer-centered services and offers while streamlining processes and systems to reduce the costs associated with multiple platforms,” said Strelkov.

Rebecca Prudhomme, Amdocs’ VP of product and solutions marketing, said that service providers are increasingly investing in customer management solutions in order to fulfil the need for customer loyalty.

By offering differentiated service and personalised offer s, they seek to address the gap between consumer expectations of the telecoms industry and the service currently received.

“By modernising and consolidating their customer management system, Rostelecom will be able to react quickly to any customer request and provide the best customer experience,” she said.
