Ericsson offers Ericsson Mobile Device Antivirus solution for operators
Ericsson is offering the industry's first mobile antivirus solution specifically designed for operator environments.
Ericsson Mobile Device Antivirus is now available as part of Ericsson's Mobile Data Solutions portfolio, which offers enterprises secure mobile access to business-critical data applications.
Ericsson Mobile Device Antivirus provides centralized control over antivirus and SMS spam protection for smartphones running Symbian and Microsoft operating systems (OS). It will be available as a separate product, as part of a packaged mobile data solution, or as a hosted solution.
Katarina Löweberg, Director Mobile Applications, Ericsson Enterprise, says: "As the capabilities of smartphones increase, it's ever more important for enterprises to protect themselves from the growing security threat these devices can pose. For the first time, mobile operators now have a way to offer their enterprise customers centrally-managed protection for smartphones against malicious mobile code such as SMS spam and viruses."
Ericsson's Mobile Data Solutions strategy is to combine the best of in-house and third-party developed products into end-to-end integrated solutions for enterprises. Ericsson Mobile Device Antivirus is based on the market-leading and award-winning Trend Micro Mobile Security product. Its centralized management and provisioning enable administrators to access all client devices and manage, update and automate compliance to protect against multiple threats. They can also obtain centralized reports on device OS platform, scan engine and virus pattern versions.
