T-Mobile Austria opts for LHS
First BSCS 6 customer expands its billing software with LHS
LHS today announced that T-Mobile Austria has implemented LHS’ real-time Rating Package. T-Mobile has combined its existing BSCS 6 Billing System with LHS’ new standalone Rating Package software module, thus enabling T-Mobile Austria to rate and process content services or prepaid and postpaid customers with only one rating engine. T-Mobile Austria will use the software product to manage the account balances for around two million subscribers.
The Rating Package solution was combined with the existing BSCS 6 software by using the Rating Package Adaptor software, which allows T-Mobile to ensure seamless billing integration. The Rating Package replaced several legacy-rating systems, consolidating different rating streams into one single rating. The main benefits that subscriber services remain undisrupted as T-Mobile scales and upgrades its billing systems to cope with increased customer demand for 3G content services.
T-Mobile Austria chose LHS’ Rating Package due to the distinctive real-time rating and balance management capabilities. These Real-time capabilities are particularly necessary for content services that T-Mobile Austria is providing its customers such as Location Based Services, Fleet Management, and ring tone and video clip downloads.
Günther Ottendorfer, Director IT and Technology at T-Mobile Austria comments, “We want to meet customer demand for more sophisticated content services: This means that we have to make sure that our billing system can handle additional customer demand for 3G services in real-time. We chose LHS’ Rating Package because it offers us real-time billing information - allowing us to monitor user habits and improve customer loyalty.”
Stefan Sieber, chief marketing officer at LHS adds, “T-Mobile Austria was the first operator to sign up for BSCS 6 back in 2000 and our partnership has grown over the last four years. We have worked closely with T-Mobile to help it enhance the content services T-Mobile provides on the market.
LHS Rating Package is an end-to-end real-time rating system, designed to integrate with operators' existing IT and network infrastructures. It spans product definition, rating and balance management across 2, 2.5 and 3G services, and supports a range of strategies: a single solution for all rating requirements; an adjunct solution for a subset of services to support a phased migration of services from a legacy system; or an SDP solution, integrated with an external Service Control Point (SCP).[l=www.lhs-systems.com/]http://www.lhs-systems.com/[/l]
