SpinVox strengthens European sales team
Appointment of VP supports growth in demand for services across Europe
SpinVox , the 'world’s first' voicemail-to-text service for mobile and landline phones, has strengthened its management team by appointing Paul Burmester as its VP of Sales & Marketing for EMEA with responsibility for driving carrier sales across the region.
Prior to joining Spinvox, Burmester held critical roles at leading technology companies including Visto Corperation where, as VP – EMEA, he built a solid team and market leading position culminating in landmark deals to supply “Push Email & PIM technology” to mobile operators such as the Vodafone Global Group. He has also held senior positions at Openwave, after their acquisition of Paragon Software, who defined and drove the early mobile data synchronisation market, Mobile Systems International, which was built into the market leading company for mobile network design and optimisation and was thus acquired by the Marconi Group, Tektronix, Datech and ITT Creed.
Christina Domecq, Spinvox CEO commented: “I’m delighted to have appointed Paul to this position, he will play a pivotal role in realising Spinvox’s strategy and goals during this period of high growth. Paul has the skills and experience to improve penetration within the region by developing current relationships as well as establishing new ones.”
Following successful intensive trials with Vodafone España, SpinVox has recently introduced a new Spanish-language service, initially in Spain. Further language capabilities, in French and German, are also soon to be released. SpinVox is currently working on deployments in both theses territories in line with contracts that have already been secured.
SpinVox is currently deploying with operators globally, following findings that voicemail-to-text has a dramatic impact on revenues per user (ARPU), as voicemail becomes more immediate and users can text or call back at the push of a button. Aggregated findings from trials with retailers and operators are said to indicate that SpinVox drives an average uplift of 12% in text and voice traffic.
