Italtel chosen by Arcor to provide VoIP services and solutions
Italtel, one of the leading companies in the supply of products, solutions and services for next generation networks over IP, has announced that it has signed an agreement with Arcor, the second largest wireline operator in Germany, aimed at providing innovative VoIP services and solutions.
Under the terms of the agreement Italtel will supply both a Next Generation Networks (NGN) Class 4 VoIP solution, to expand the current transit network, and a Next Generation Networks Class 5 VoIP solution to develop new IP telephony and multimedia services for residential and business customers.
The network solution selected by Arcor, following a long evaluation and testing phase at customer premises, is based on the Italtel NGN architecture, with i-SSW (Italtel iMSS based Softswitch solution) and i-UDB (Italtel Universal Data Base) platforms developed by Italtel, and offers, with respect to other competitive proposals, tangible advantages in terms of:
• network scalability
• reduction of operational costs
• complete interoperability with the current voice networks
• possibility of introducing/developing Next Generation Services (NGS) for the service provider customers.
Italtel will act as overall system integrator of the NGN solution into Arcor’s network and of the management systems in Arcor’s Operation and Business Support Systems (OSS/BSS), thus assuming a key partner role.
