Ericsson and T-Mobile sign microwave transmission agreement in Czech Republic

Ericsson and T-Mobile Czech Republic have signed a frame agreement for the supply of MINI-LINK microwave transmission solution, providing a platform for flexible, scalable and cost-effective wireless transmission.

Ericsson's microwave transmission solution will enable T-Mobile to offer Czech consumers a wide range of services and to meet the demand for network capacity driven by the increasing number of subscribers and the uptake of new data services in the Czech Republic. The agreement includes the new MINI-LINK TN that allows optimization on both network and sites, resulting in a more cost efficient network.

Heinz Schmid, CTO, T-Mobile Czech Republic, says: "We have chosen Ericsson as their transmission solution offers a unique flexibility for capacity and the support for the necessary voice and data traffic."

Ericsson's MINI-LINK solution will provide T-Mobile with efficient traffic aggregation, easy capacity expansion, and improved service quality and network control.  It supports a variety of optional features, enabled by Soft Keys and offers great flexibility in transmission networks for broadband applications. The agreement includes also a complete set of services including installation, integration, warehousing and hardware support.

Roman Stupka, President, Ericsson Czech Republic, says: "This new agreement takes our relationship with T-Mobile Czech Republic to a new level and confirms our position as a leader in microwave transmission solutions provider in the Czech Republic."
