Ericsson delivers HSPA network for DNA Finland
Ericsson has announced the successful completion of DNA Finland's 3G network upgrade - a move, says Ericsson, that will provide end users with a true mobile-broadband solution.
Signed in late December 2006, the contract includes a commercial High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA) software upgrade, as well as deployment, integration and support services.
The completion of the network follows Ericsson's earlier installation of HSPA-capable base-station hardware. Ericsson's HSPA solution enables mobile broadband, boosts internet speeds, and decreases uplink and downlink delays, providing the springboard to future multimedia services.
DNA Finland is the fastest-growing operator in the country, with more than 1 million new subscribers since 2001. The rollout will allow the operator to further expand its reach by providing a cutting-edge broadband solution.
Janne Laitala, Ericsson Country Manager, Finland, says: "The rollout represents a milestone in Ericsson's long-standing relationship with DNA Finland. It provides them with a market-leading solution, allowing them to offer end users an enriched experience with access to services such as fast internet browsing, file downloading and e-mail messaging."
