Slovenian operator SiOL launches advanced Triple Play with Thomson
Thomson’s pre-integrated triple play platforms first to deployed in Central and Eastern Europe
SiOL, the consumer services branch of the Slovenian national operator Telekom Slovenije, has launched a new commercial offering with advanced interactive triple play services using Thomson’s SmartVision video services platform. This is in addition to the announcement made in 2006 of SiOL’s choice of Thomson’s Cirpack VoIP platforms, meaning that Thomson’s Network Intelligence solutions are now driving SiOL’s full triple play solutions. Thomson is said to be the first company to have its entire network software solutions for triple play used in the Central and Eastern European zone.
SiOL’s customers first in Central and Eastern Europe to enjoy advanced triple play
Using Thomson’s unique pre-integrated triple play platforms, SiOL’s customers will be the first in the region to benefit from advanced video services such as network personal video recording, video on demand and electronic programme guides, as well as bouquets of over 100 live channels.
SiOL’s CEO, Rudolf Skobe explained “Being part of the national incumbent operator, quality and reliability of service are non-negotiable requirements. One of the reasons we selected Thomson’s IPTV service platform is that it is already a field proven solution in major deployments and this was further substantiated by successful trials we have completed with VIP users. Besides this, the range of features managed by Thomson’s SmartVision is hard to beat. This combined with the carrier-grade telephony service powered by Thomson’s Cirpack platforms turns our new triple play services into a truly unique value proposition for retaining our market leadership and driving user revenues.”
