Deployment delivers hot new ringback service to Vodafone customers in Portugal
NMS Communications and LogicaCMG have announced another ringback tones win, as Vodafone Portugal became the first telecom operator in Portugal to introduce its customers to ringback tones. This hot new Vodafone service lets mobile customers replace the usual ringback tone with the latest music hits, funny messages, or other audio clips. Vodafone's ringback tone service is based on MyCaller, the personalized mobile entertainment platform from NMS Communications. LogicaCMG will be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the solution.
Traditionally, callers hear the standard ringback tone until a call is answered, but now, when placing a call to a Vodafone customer, they're more likely to hear commercial music or another audio clip. What the caller hears depends on the personal ringback profile previously chosen and set by the Vodafone customer. The service allows customers to set their choices of ringback depending on who is calling, and when. Ringback preferences may be set easily via Web, SMS, IVR and the Vodafone live! portal. Unlike the popular ring tones, which reside in the handset and depend on having models with specific features, the ringback tone service resides on the telecom provider's network. Every mobile customer, regardless of handset, can use the ringback tones service, and all of their callers, regardless of whether they're calling from a fixed-line or mobile phone, will hear the ringback that the customer has chosen for them to hear. "With this proven solution from NMS Communications and LogicaCMG, we are in a position to introduce this great new service quickly to the market," says Goncalo R.Cadete, Product Manager at Vodafone Portugal.
