WaveCrest migrates to DIGITALK SIP Application Server

WaveCrest, one of Europe's largest wholesale voice carriers and a leading provider of hosted retail telephony applications, has migrated from DIGITALK's TDM-based Intelligent Switch architecture to an NGN solution based on DIGITALK's SIP Media Application Server.

Wavecrest is one of DIGITALK's longest standing customers, offering hosted Prepaid Calling Card solutions, Residential and Wholesale services since 1998.

The move to the NGN solution brings immediate operational expenditure savings from lower co-location costs resulting in 80% reduced rack space, and considerable power consumption savings. This is met with increased availability, enhanced services such as Web Calling Card for WaveCrest's prepaid calling card customers, and a future-proof solution for expanding new services on the DIGITALK Multiservice Platform.

Rhys Williams, Group CTO & Head of Strategic Development said "DIGITALK is a key partner for WaveCrest in delivering high quality, market-leading products into our user base. The on-going relationship, understanding and trust between WaveCrest and DIGITALK meant a complex migration was delivered smoothly, ahead of time, and with no impact on service availability. "

Mark Ashdown, VP Sales and Marketing added "Naturally we are delighted that WaveCrest have chosen to migrate and enhance their services using DIGITALK's NGN solution. The DIGITALK SIP Media Application Server continues to provide operators with a solid foundation for delivering existing and exciting new revenue generation streams."
