Interoute extends pan-European fibre optic to Ireland

Interoute, owner operator of Europe's largest next generation network, today announced that it has extended its pan-European network into Ireland to meet demand from multinational enterprises looking for connectivity in the region.  The new Dublin point of presence (PoP), which is live and fully operational, provides businesses with resilient, high quality voice and data services and a fast and reliable bridge to the rest of Europe.

Despite the global recession, the number of multinational companies investing in Ireland rose by 11 per cent in 2009; attracted by a well educated workforce with one of the top productivity ratings in Europe and the low corporation tax rate on offer. Interoute felt some of the effects of this in 2009, with orders for connected sites in Ireland rising by 43 per cent compared with 2008.

Lee Myall, UK Regional Director at Interoute, said: "Ireland is a highly attractive location for businesses.  Not only is it well known as a hub for innovation and technological development, but it also offers favourable financial incentives.   Over the last twelve months we have seen increasing demand for our services in the region and this extension of our network into Ireland further strengthens our European footprint."

Interoute's Dublin PoP is fully integrated into Interoute's pan-European network, providing businesses with key managed services such as IP connectivity, VPN services, managed hosting and unified communications solutions.
