Azure launches Interconnect version 9.0 at Billing Systems 2005
Combined knowledge and technology of leading interconnect billing experts provides operators with 'next-generation' ready solution
Azure Solutions, the revenue assurance company, has today announced the launch of Azure Interconnect version 9.0 at Billing Systems 2005, taking place at Olympia, London.
Azure Interconnect version 9.0 is the latest version of the Azure's award-winning interconnect system and bureau service, which allows operators to analyse call data, bill more accurately and verify interconnect traffic between themselves and other network partners. This latest iteration merges Azure's existing interconnect technology with the Calculus Interconnect settlements system which was obtained, along with its experienced engineering team, as part of Azure's acquisition of Anite Calculus in November 2004.
Azure Interconnect version 9.0 combines the proven high-volume carrier-grade functionality of version 8.0 with the rich features and next-generation settlement functions of Calculus Interconnect, providing operators with a flexible and effective platform to manage complex interconnect agreements. Azure Interconnect version 9.0 will now enable operators to rate and bill for IP/VoIP services in addition to traditional voice services.
Azure Interconnect version 9.0 new functions include:
· next-generation support for IP revenue sharing agreements
· a full suite of invoicing functions including multi-lingual and multi-currency bill creation, payments tracking and test billing
· support for recurring and one-off service charges: billing other operators for unbundled network charges, rentals and maintenance fees
· automatic reconciliation support: loading of external invoices, reconciliation and authorisation of outgoing payments
· ITU settlement functionality: support for reconciliation and declaration, ITU accounting routes and volume agreements.
Saul Nurtman, Azure's senior vice president of products, said: "Interconnect is continuing to be a major area of revenue loss for many telecom operators, and operators need to start equipping themselves for the next-generation IP sharing products that are fast becoming commonplace. The combined technology and expertise that has gone into developing Azure Interconnect version 9.0 product, means that operators can now have an effective tool to manage their interconnect agreements, improve reconciliation with partners and start to become next-generation ready."
