Telekom Malaysia selects BSCS 8 from LHS to support new multimedia content services
LHS has announced that Aktel, one of the leading mobile operators in Bangladesh and member of the Telekom Malaysia communications group, has installed BSCS 8 customer care and rating solution to replace its previous legacy billing system. The new billing solution will allow Aktel to launch new services including MMS and wireless Internet connection via GPRS.
Aktel plans to offer subscribers multi-media content via SMS. BSCS 8 will enable Aktel to bill its users for downloadable content services such as ring tones, picture messages and games. Aktel will also be launching banking facilities and location-based services across its subscriber base.
BSCS 8 will allow Aktel to launch more marketing promotions and special tariff deals to its subscribers. Under the ‘Friend and Family Talk Plan’, for example, users will be able to nominate any three Aktel numbers for reduced call charges.
“We were looking for a billing solution that would enable us to deliver easy-to-understand tariff structures and targeted promotions to our customers,” commented Vijay Watson, chief operating officer, Aktel Bangladesh. “BSCS 8 from LHS enables us to launch any new services and will make it easier for our customers to benefit from promotions and flexible payment options.”
“When Aktel approached us with plans to bring multi-media content delivery to its client offering we suggested BSCS 8 as it offers end-to-end content charging, allowing for flexible tariffing options and enhanced marketing capabilities, which will increase customer loyalty in a competitive market,” added Stefan Sieber, chief sales officer at LHS.
BSCS 8 delivers end-to-end content charging from the network and application interaction through to the billing and partner settlement across all mobile, fixed and IP networks.
