Vodafone launches prepay 3G card
Vodafone UK has made available the UK's first Vodafone Mobile Connect Prepay 3G data card.
The 'plug-in' card allows laptop users to work outside their office environment and reclaim 'dead time'. The Vodafone Mobile Connect Prepay 3G data card allows customers to start working remotely within minutes.
With easy-to-install software, customers only need to 'top up' their Vodafone Mobile Connect 3G/GPRS data card to be able to start sending and receiving emails or surfing the web throughout the UK or on 3G in 13 countries worldwide.
The card comes with 10 free megabytes of data and further top ups can be purchased as with mobile phones; by telephone, in Vodafone UK retail stores and online.Usage will be charged at £3.07 per Mb in the UK and £9.085 internationally.
The Vodafone Mobile Connect Prepay 3G data card is priced at £199 and is available from retailers including PC World, Maplin, Comet, Argos and Amazon. It is also available through channel partners Ingram Micro and Computer 2000.
The pay as you use card can also be used in over 20 countries over GPRS. Customers can Top Up as they would a Vodafone pay as you talk mobile phone over the phone, via the web or in store.
Vodafone UK's 3G population coverage is now at 65%.
