Globalstar selects BSCS iX from LHS to support satellite voice and data services

LHS signs its first deal for BSCS iX

LHS today announces that it has signed a deal with Globalstar LLC, the world's most widely used handheld satellite phone provider and a leading supplier of high-value satellite voice and data services to business, to supply its BSCS iX billing and customer care solution.

Globalstar has chosen BSCS iX as its billing system of choice for its multi company capabilities that allow for different business units to share one installation of BSCS iX. Thus, Globalstar will be using one BSCS iX installation for its multiple operations in the US, Canada, Europe and Latin America and standardise billing across all customers and business partners.

Globalstar is the first satellite carrier to roll out BSCS iX to bill across all of its customers needing voice and data services.

Robert van Stedum, Director of Billing, Globalstar comments: “We chose BSCS iX because it allows us to consolidate our billing systems across all parts of the business and bring in a much more integrated approach that helps us to streamline our billing infrastructure and reduce operating costs.”

Detlef Purschke, chief marketing officer and president Americas, LHS adds: “BSCS iX is an end-toend billing and customer care solution that is designed to fit easily into Globalstar’s business environment. Globalstar can gradually expand its systems in line with their growing business needs whilst controlling costs and maintaining excellent customer services.”

BSCS iX is designed to easily integrate into a complex IT environment of business support systems and to consolidate multiple rating and billing streams across multiple business units of an international organization.

BSCS iX architecture enables real-time business operations for the entire rating and billing process, thus reaching a new level of customer-centricity, from the point of sale to providing realtime charging information right up to real-time billing. Its modular design enables low risk step-wise migrations and easy integrations of the system. Globalstar will install BSCS iX this summer. LHS will provide training and support services to ensure seamless integration of the new solution.
