Intec launches new mobile charging, customer management and revenue management solution

Intec, a leading supplier of business and operations support systems (BSS/OSS) to the global telecoms industry, has launched its new mobile charging, customer management and revenue management solution.

The Intec Mobile Business Solution is said to meet the evolving needs of mobile operators and MVNOs worldwide for a single, scalable OSS/BSS platform, capable of evolving from simple voice and messaging services through to fully converged, circuit-switched and IP-based next-generation mobile services.

“The Intec Mobile Business Solution solves the problem of new operators and MVNOs that want an affordable, comprehensive, fast-to-market BSS/OSS solution that won’t leave them saddled with a product that can’t scale and can’t handle next-generation services as they grow,” said Intec CEO, Kevin Adams. “Our answer to this problem is based on technology used by some of the world’s largest and most innovative mobile operators, but with the up-front cost and implementation time significantly reduced.”

While a number of attempts have been made, by various vendors, to launch pre-packaged OSS/BSS solutions, the reality has been that these approaches are too prescriptive, limiting the flexibility and service growth potential for operators and MVNOs. The Intec solution resolves these issues by presenting different options to address varying operator needs.

Intec says it recognises that the quickest route to market entry for new mobile licencees and MVNOs is through the launch of simple voice and SMS services, supported by an OSS/BSS that affords low cost market entry, ongoing low operating expenditure, easy revenue assurance and solid margins. But, previously, new entrants were restricted to either a functionally limited prepay solution or a disproportionately complex and expensive carrier grade billing system. Intec offers an affordable alternative approach, by putting in place the right infrastructure and systems from day one at a cost within the budget of most start-up companies, with a short potential initial deployment time. As the subscriber base and service portfolio grows, the Intec Mobile Business Solution can be expanded in functionality, and through its natural scalability, to deal with the largest and most sophisticated operation.

With Intec Mobile Business Solution, operators benefit from

* A modular architecture based on proven, best-of-breed functional components
* A highly-scalable initial platform with affordable entry costs and timescales
* An agile solution able to support all future requirements through configuration
* A seamless evolution from the initial deployment option to full convergence

The Intec Mobile Business Solution is based on Intec’s proven, carrier-grade OSS/BSS technology, which is in use with over 350 major carriers worldwide. It forms part of Intec’s growing Solution Architecture, which includes products, integrated solutions and associated professional services designed to address real-world needs of communication service providers.
