Convergys to support OTE
Convergys, a leader in customer care, human resources, and billing services, has announced it has signed a multi-year licensing, support, and maintenance contract with the Hellenic Organization of Telecommunications, a provider of public, fixed switch, domestic, and international telephony, as well as broadband services in Greece. OTE will use Convergys’ Infinys billing solution to support its 5 million residential wireline customers.
OTE currently uses Infinys to manage its international wholesale voice and data services, corporate customers, and IP services. Migration of OTE’s residential wireline customers to a single Infinys solution supporting all other OTE services will reduce OTE’s bill cycles from 42 to 8, significantly reducing operational costs. By using a single billing solution from Convergys, OTE will gain more flexibility in launching new bundled services as well as an increase in customer focus. Infinys is integrated with Oracle’s e-Business Suite (CRM and ERP) serving as the centerpiece of OTE’s IT infrastructure.
“The convergent solution from Convergys and Oracle is at the heart of OTE’s IT infrastructure, underpinning our drive to become even more customer-focused,” said Konstantinos Kappos, Chief Information Officer of OTE. “By streamlining processes across all of our business units, the solution will enable OTE to reduce operational costs, enhance profitability and deliver the competitive advantage needed for OTE to prosper in all of our markets.”
“OTE’s decision to use Infinys to support its remaining residential product and service offerings demonstrates its continued confidence in Convergys and our solutions to advance its already strong business,” said Jean Hervé-Jenn, Convergys’ President, International. “Because of the speed and ease of an Infinys implementation, OTE will quickly be able to take advantage of the additional cost savings and increased speed to market for new services provided by the consolidation of all its lines of business to Infinys.”
