Colt has selected kit from Netcracker Technology as part of its OSS transformation project.

Specifically, the enterprise-focused network provider will implement Netcracker's OSS and Service Orchestration solution.

The NEC-owned vendor said this would provide Colt with new levels of provisioning automation to shorten the time it takes to deliver new services to customers and eliminate the risk of provisioning errors brought about by manual processes.

It would also provide more accurate views into the network, Netcracker claimed.

Colt CTO Rajiv Datta said: "Our customers continue to expect new services to be delivered to them faster, which requires us to optimise our intelligent network and pave the way for fast-growing bandwidth requirements.”

The UK-based company announced plans to invest €500 million over the next three years in February as it looks to build on the number of businesses it serves across Europe and Asia.

For Netcracker, meanwhile, the Colt deal adds to similar ones it has struck with Telefónica Business Solutions, Telenet and Virgin Media this year.

Yaniv Zilberman, VP of Sales at Netcracker, said: "The need to orchestrate legacy ecosystems with newly developed and launched virtualised technologies is becoming increasingly popular among service providers around the world as they transform in order to meet evolving customer needs.”
